Unwind (Book 1 in series)

Part 1
Unwind is a book by Neal Shusterman. There's four books in the series, and I've read them all. These books are another dystopian series. After the Heartland War it was agreed that certain teenagers could be chosen for the Unwinding if their parents sign a contract. The Unwinding is when you are take to a Harvest Camp and the doctors there remove all of your body parts for future uses. Your body parts could go to people that need a new part, but your personality goes with those body parts. When Connor's parents sign his Unwinding order, he decides to run away. Risa also has the same feelings, and they meet each other. Levi "Lev" is a tithe, people who believe the Unwinding is something sent from God, is kidnapped by Connor and the three run away from the Juvenile Authority (the ones that control the Unwinding.)

Part 2
Well, what did I like about this book? Each chapter the perspective changes and I find that interesting because it makes the book more entertaining. One chapter Connor could be the person telling the story, but the next could be some random kid in the distance. It's really unique! Also, at the end of each chapter there is almost always a cliffhanger, and it makes me want to read more.

Part 3 (SPOILER ALERT)
In the end, Connor becomes the face of the rebellion and is known as the "Akron Awol". After Connor, Lev and Risa are sent to a Harvest Camp after being turned in, it is blown up and many of the teenagers escape. However, Roland, the one person that kept giving Connor trouble, is Unwound and his arm with the Shark tattoo is sent to Connor after he was injured during the explosion. It was a perfect ending because there was so much going on, and I had no idea what would happen in the next few books.

Overall rating: 10/10
